Ray Woroniak joins Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Roundtable
Most readers will know that the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region (MABR) was designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in the year 2000.
Staff for the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region and its associated research institute at Vancouver Island University receive guidance and direction from a Roundtable of regional representatives from local First Nations (Snaw-naw-as, Qualicum, and Snuneymuxw), local and senior levels of government, Vancouver Island University, conservation organizations, forestry industry and local businesses, as well as elected community representatives.
We are pleased to acknowledge that QB resident Ray Woroniak has recently joined the MABR Roundtable leadership team. Ray will be a valued two-way connection between the broad public, specific community groups, SD69 and the MABR Roundtable.
If you have ideas for collaboration, partnerships or need more information, contact Ray at 250 927-7474 or by email at 9192631700hz@gmail.com

Qualicum Beach Multi-Use Cinema completes its Feasibility Study
The Cinema Society thanks QBers for their patience in awaiting this report.
“We are very excited to share MNP’s findings that a community cinema in Qualicum Beach is feasible, would be capable of covering its own running costs, and is likely to have a significantly positive impact on the local economy.”
The Society says the social and cultural benefits of such a cinema are also well-described in this report.
